If you have a toddler you may have noticed a change in her interests as of late. One of those changes is probably that she suddenly desires to help you to everything, with a more or less destructive force than may actually be helpful. But you don’t have to ban her from helping with chores. Just make them a little more toddler-proof.

The best way to do this is by making a little chore chart for all the daily activities your little one can help with, as well as all the things that are less loved, but necessary. For example, you can put on ‘Brush Teeth’, ‘Bath’, or even ‘Potty Breaks’ for those who are toilet training.

The other chores you may add are up to you. Popular options are ‘Put Away Clothes’, ‘Put Away Toys’, and even just ‘Help Mommy & Daddy’, which can be anything. Whenever your toddler does any of these things, allow them to put a sticker on their chart. This will give them something to look forward to (what child doesn’t love stickers), and give them a sense of accomplishment that will make them eager to continue the practice.

Not only will this help to teach them about chores during their younger years, but it is a great teaching tool for the future.
